Clinical Assistant (CMA, LPN, RN)
Essential Duties:
- Ascertain pertinent medical history information from patient.
- Assists physicians as directed in patient examination and/or treatment.
- Participate in patient education. Communicate effectively and validate patient understanding.
- Chart all patient activity in a complete, accurate, legible and timely manner.
- Set up surgical or procedure trays as needed and assist with the procedure.
- Takes or returns calls from patients, pharmacies and/or referring medical office personnel.
- Able to perform multiple tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current, active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or a Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:45am-5pm and Friday 7:45am-2pm Employees are held to high standards with attendance and punctually. Customer Service is essential within this position to ensure Dermatology, P.C. provides the highest quality efficient health care to all of our patients.
Histotechnician
Essential Duties:
- Knowledgeable in Histology and Mohs Laboratory grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining and/or processing frozen sections for microscopic evaluation by our Mohs surgeons.
- Perform and demonstrate proficiency and understanding of specimen grossing, fixation, cutting, mounting on slides, and staining of tissue samples requiring high quality, neatness and accuracy while working in an independent environment.
- Maintain all histology equipment and following all quality controls.
- Comply with safety standards per OSHA/CLIA policies and procedures manual located in the Dermatopathology Department.
- Prepare stain control slides for positive staining for physician quality assurance.
Qualifications and Skills:
Certified Mohs Technician / Histology Technician / Histotechnician from a formal histology program is preferred however a Med Tech or MLT will be highly considered. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Previous Histology/Mohs experience preferred.

Patient Service Specialist
Essential Duties:
- Greet patients and/or visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
- Obtain, verify and update necessary patient information, provide any necessary forms, obtain necessary signatures and make copies of appropriate documents for patient chart.
- Monitors and maintains the patient waiting room, assuring a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Collect patient co-payments and/or other payments and issue receipt if necessary.
- Schedule, reschedule, cancel patient appointments.
- Answer multi-line telephone system in a courteous and professional manner, projecting a positive public image of the clinic.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experience. Previous experience working in a medical office and a working knowledge of different types of insurance plans and billing software preferred.

Esthetician
Essential Duties:
- Receives patients according to scheduled appointment, retrieves appropriate chart prepared by check-in receptionist, places patient in examination room, and ascertains pertinent medical history information.
- Assists provider as directed in patient examination and/or treatment, participates in patient education, and charts all patient activity in a complete, accurate, legible, and timely manner (this would include but not limited to Isotretinion).
- Cleans and organizes exam rooms between patients.
- Knowledgeable of all medical office procedures, having the ability to perform or assist the provider with the procedure and to educate the patient in the following procedures including but not limited to: Iontophoresis, UVB, Blue/Red light treatments, and Suture removals, etc.
- Knowledgeable of cosmetic services, having the ability to assist the provider with the products and to educate the patient with the following products including but not limited to: Microdermabrasions, lasers, chemical peels, neurotoxins (Botox/Dysport), fillers, laser therapy and sclerotherapy, etc.
- Anticipates equipment/supply needs for patient examination/treatment, setting up patient treatment trays as appropriate.
- Cleans and operates autoclave in sterilizing equipment and supplies. Wraps sterile equipment/supplies and reports malfunctions if appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma/GED required. State esthetician license required. Current CPR and Mandatory Reporter certifications are required. Previous Esthetician experience preferred.
