Eczema



Eczema is a medical condition that causes inflamed and irritated skin. Eczema can leave your skin, red, dry and itchy and is most commonly found on the knees, hands, wrists, face and feet. Causes of eczema flare ups are:

  • Sudden temperature changes
  • Stress
  • Scratchy fabrics such as wool
  • Certain foods and substances
  • Harsh detergents, solvents or soaps

Treatment for eczema is meant to provide relief and prevent itching. Lotions and skin creams are recommended in order to keep the skin moisturized. If not treated, the affected area can become infected. Antibiotics and other medications may be prescribed.
